My
professional training in electronics has seen me modify quite a few valve amps
over the years..but this 50W Sound City has been with me since the early 70's
and still turns out for gigs..I uses different speaker combinations but favour
Celestion G12's |

My home brew 5 watt head,
built from scratch in 2005 using mullard transformers and a single EL84, and
EF86. One knob and a great tone!!. Holding it up is my original Colorsound Wah
pedal from Macari's in Charing Cross Road..again early 70's and
unmodified |

I have bought too much stuff
over the years and have a collection of rack stuff, synths and guitar effects
..this is the Boss GT3 and has ended up mainly used for recording where the
flexibility of digital modelling wins out |

Line 6 Flextone II +. Bought this in 2003
when they were going cheap after the III came out..pretty good, but rather too
many options for live use and its impossible to tell by looking at the controls
what the sound will be like..so minor tweaks can be a problem on stage..thats
my main concern. ..Not worth much in 2007 so we'll keep it and it will probably
become an antique!! |
